In another move to prove the wealth of his pocketbook, State Senator Dick Kelsey this week upped the ante in his bid to purchase the 4th Kansas Congressional District seat.
The latest fruits of Kelsey’s personal “investment” in his campaign? This TV ad posted on September 15, 2009. In the ad, Kelsey can be seen, albeit nervously, peddling to-be-expected party-line conservative message.
Kelsey reportedly raised $229,000 in the last FEC reporting period. Over $220,000 of that cash was his own. That’s right, Kelsey raised only $7,500 (not of his own dollars, anyways) in the last period.
I guess when all else fails (and by fail, I mean you’re not very charismatic, your policy goals don’t align with two-thirds of your potential constituents and you sound like you’re quivering with fear in your terrible TV ads), you can always try to buy a seat to the United States Congress.
