As a victim of ID theft while I was at KU I can tell you learning the things to watch out for and how to protect yourself is key.

According to a release from the AG’s office:

Attorney General Steve Six is hosting a consumer seminar at the State Fair tomorrow, September 15th, staring at 10:30 a.m. It is an opportunity for Kansans to learn how to protect themselves from common scams and identity theft.

The program is free and open to the public. Participants are encouraged to come to one or all sessions of the seminar. There will be 40 minute breaks between sessions for participants to visit other State Fair attractions.

Seminar Schedule:

  • 10:30 a.m.: Attorney General Steve Six, Remarks
  • 11:00 a.m.: Identity Theft
  • 12:30 a.m.: Mortgage Scams
  • 2:00 p.m.: Debt Collection & the Kansas Consumer Protection Act
