We went to law school together. Of course you don’t remember that, because you dropped out. If you would have stayed around, you would have realized how I’ve been involved in the progressive movement in Kansas. But, because you were to busy crying foul against the law school administration while you were dropping out of Washburn, you seemed to have missed the newsflash of my service.

By engaging with all political people, I get some great ideas. And to those that do, I give them credit publically. I learned long ago, the more people that give you input increases one's chances of coming up with solutions. If I only rely on what I know, that would make me a egomanical narcisist. I am humble enough to admit I do not have all the solutions.

I hope that helps you as you go forward. For example, I listened to Sam Brownback, our next governor. He is no dummy. He had some very good ideas that I heard today. I kept notes and the ideas of his that I agree with, that are in the best interests of the public, now are mine. It pays to listen sometimes. And I probably would do a little better, the better I listen. I am getting better at listening. Thanks again.

I'm a big fan of the 1st Amendment — not just for the freedom to speak, but because I want the right to be able to hear what others have to say.

My guess is that you know that the perception of being ignored is not a conspiracy. It's simply a matter of making yourself heard and your presence felt. Adding your voice to public comment is an excellent way to make me, and others, know exactly how committed you are and where you would lead us.
