Sometime on Saturday night or Sunday morning the Wichita, Kansas Toys for Tots location was robbed.
About 1,000 toys were stolen. This is not representative of the Kansas I know. It goes without saying that who ever did this is despicable. Kansan’s are hardworking people. The Wichita area in particular has seen major layoffs at its aircraft manufacturers, the major employers in town. As someone who has been without a job this year, I can’t imagine my kids going without on Christmas morning. My challenge to all who read this blog post is to help, help in anyway possible.
I spoke to Gunnery Sergeant Watt this morning, he is the Marine in charge of Toys for Tots for the Wichita area. The GySgt assured me that they would still make their mission and that all who had applied would be served. We need to make sure that is the case. Please pull together anything you can. All of the donation locations are still collecting in Wichita and they are able to accept cash donations through the mail. Write them a check, over flow those bins in Wichita, this isn’t a political issue its about humanity.
No Grinch is gonna steal this Christmas if we all pull together.
You can also help by:

The mailing address for financial donations is Toys for Tots, 3026 George Washington Blvd, Wichita, KS 67210. They are not set up for credit card donations, but a mailed check will get to them in 24-48 hours from most places in the state.
Update: It was just posted on twitter that Governor Mark Parkinson has commited a $1000 from his family to help out. He is setting a good example, lets follow his lead.
