Kansas Democratic Party

Well folks, the Kansas Democratic Party has finally found its 2010 candidate for Governor, former California businessman and now Olathe resident, Tom Wiggans. While initially it was suspected Wiggans would run for U. S. Senate, it was reported by Levi last Friday, that his sights were now set on a gubernatorial bid. Wiggans’ [...]

There are currently two State Representatives that I am aware of that are offering internships for motivated young democrats to take part in their campaigns for reelection. Both are great examples of leadership in Kansas.  If you are anyone you know is looking to be involved in the next election cycle I highly recommend checking [...]

This evening, in a email to Kansas Democratic Party supporters, Chairman Larry Gates announced he will not enter the race for Kansas governor against Sen. Sam Brownback.
Gates had publicly expressed interested in running for governor and was highly rumored to be the leading democratic candidate. While his announcement gives ammunition to those doubting the Democratic [...]

There is a great author I’ve admired for the last several years since I read his book Millennial Makeover.  Since being involved in the youth movement I’ve heard so many speakers and so-called experts, but Morley Winograd is the real deal.

That night I went back and forth between the bar, the diner, our swanky room, and whoring myself to media to talk about young voters and everywhere I had a conversation with someone where they said “man… we just can’t be stopped!” My response then was: “Yeah… if we don’t screw it up…”

State Senator Laura Kelly has announced she’s running against Lynn Jenkins for the Kansas 2nd Congressional District.

Via Scott Rothschild at the LJWorld “In the last few months people from all across the district have been urging me to run for Congress,” Kelly said in a prepared statement. . .

If you notice in this video Sen. Brownback talks about how terrible human trafficking is, and how people’s rights are so important we through helping people we will “save our soul”.
I guess Sen. Brownback wasn’t too worried about his soul when he voted that rape was ok. I’m not sure what his motives were [...]

We here at Forward Kansas brought you some live coverage of Demofest including interviews with possible candidates and speeches given during the weekend. There was also much conversation on twitter about the weekend with the hashtag #demofest09 (in case your curious [...]
