Huffington Post reports the DC to district travel comparing Rep. Jerry Moran (R-01) to Rep. Lynn Jenkins (R-02)
“Republican Jerry Moran spent $41,999 traveling his district, the largest in Kansas. Neighbor Lynn Jenkins (R), of the much-smaller 2nd district, spent $14,800 traveling in the third quarter. A Moran spokesperson noted that Moran’s district is “roughly the [...]

As we posted earlier today, Rep. Jenkins has no problem entering a lobbyist’s comments into the Congressional Record.  If the rest of us did that in school or at work, I think we’d all be called out for plagarism.
From The Consumerist, a side-by-side comparison of some of the statements is illustrative:
Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) said: [...]

Earlier this week, the New York Times published an article called In House, Many Spoke with One Voice: Lobbyists’.  The article reported:
Statements by more than a dozen lawmakers were ghostwritten, in whole or in part, by Washington lobbyists working for Genentech, one of the world’s largest biotechnology companies.

Two months ago a young single mother, Elizabeth Smith, with her 2 year old son in tow, went to town hall meeting in Ottawa to hear from her member of Congress, Lynn Jenkins.

Yesterday, Republicans in Congress spent a lot of time talking about how the Congressional Budget Office projected that their health care bill would reduce the cost of premiums.  Kansas Rep. Lynn Jenkins wouldn’t stop tweeting about it, in fact.
Now that the dust has settled and we can have some independent people take a look at [...]

We all know that it’s coming and that the majority of the change will occur in the 2nd District and the 3rd District.  I had this discussion with a friend in DC [...]

On Monday I broke the news that Bill Otto’s new YouTube video, “RedNeck Rap” crossed the line.  While I didn’t want to be presumptuous at the time, the more I thought I about it, and the more responses I’ve heard and read from others who have viewed the video, the phrase on his hat and [...]

Laura Kelly is running against U.S. Representative Lynn Jenkins of Kansas.  Jenkins does not support LGBT equality in any way.  The following is a letter that I sent to her today asking about her positions on GLBT issues:
Dear Mrs. Kelly
First off, congratulations on your campaign for congress.
I have had the pleasure of discussing your candidacy [...]

State Senator Laura Kelly has announced she’s running against Lynn Jenkins for the Kansas 2nd Congressional District.

Via Scott Rothschild at the LJWorld “In the last few months people from all across the district have been urging me to run for Congress,” Kelly said in a prepared statement. . .
