Not everyone would agree if I were to describe Schmidt’s leadership in the more colorful teams I’d prefer- I’d rather use words like “totalitarian,” “closed,” “nasty” and “undemocratic” to sum up Dear Leader’s style. He trapped legislation in committee he didn’t like (the employment nondiscrimination act & the death penalty ban) and used his considerable power and influence to thoroughly embarrass Senators in his own party who dared to cross him (again, see the death penalty ban debate and that horrid show Schmidt put on as he batted down State Senator Tim Owens) and to make it clear to the entire body that those who dared come at Derek Schmidt ought be prepared for the repercussions.
Attorney General Steve Six is hosting a consumer seminar at the State Fair tomorrow, September 15th, staring at 10:30 a.m. It is an opportunity for Kansans to learn how to protect themselves from common scams and identity theft.
The program is free and open to the public. Participants are encouraged to come to one or all sessions of the seminar. There will be 40 minute breaks between sessions for participants to visit other State Fair attractions.
